How to Submit

The Helix welcomes submissions of artwork and literature from across the globe. Though student run on the Central Connecticut State University campus, submissions are encouraged on both a national and global scope.

 

Up to (4) submissions can be sent and may be accepted for art and up to (4) submissions can be sent and may be accepted for literature. All together the most someone can submit is (4) art submissions and (4) literature submissions. CCSU contributors must include their graduating class or department in the description of their submitted piece. Guidelines for submissions are as follows:

How to submit Art: Send your art submissions to arthelixmag@gmail.com in order to be considered for the Helix Magazine.

Art
* Scans or Photography Only
* 300 DPI Minimum
* Size 10 Inches Minimum
* Flat Art Only
* TIFF or JPG

How to submit Literature and Music Compositions: Please submit your literature and music compositions at the following link Helix Sub Manager in order to be considered for the Helix Magazine.  Submitters from Central Connecticut State University must say their status at CCSU in the comment box (i.e. what year you are, if you are an alumni, if you are a teacher, etc.).  Once a piece is submitted, it cannot be withdrawn.

Literature
* Poetry, Fiction, Non-Fiction, Plays, etc.
* File Formats (.doc or .docx)
* Maximum of 3,000 words

All submissions need to have a title.

The Helix editors respect the integrity of all author’s work and will not make substantive changes without first consulting with the author. The Helix staff does reserve the right to make copy editing changes, and light line editing changes. If we accept a piece that we feel requires a more substantive revision prior to publication, we will notify the author and grant the author 3 days to respond to the editorial changes.

Creative nonfiction pieces must include appropriate disclaimers including name changes and paraphrased conversations.
