CT High school Personal essay contest
This contest is open to all Connecticut High School students who have a passion for writing. The Helix and Central Connecticut State University want to promote and encourage young writers.
First Place: $250 prize and will be invited to an event at CCSU.
Runner-Up: $50 prize.
Both winners will be featured on our website and in our annual print edition. Winners will also receive a copy of our magazine.
Guidelines:
- Must be a personal essay. (i.e Creative Nonfiction)
- Must be currently enrolled in a Connecticut private or public high school.
- The piece has to be 12pt font, Times New Roman, double spaced.
- Must be submitted as a Microsoft Word document via Submittable.
- 1,500 words max.
- Must include: Name, email address, title, name of school currently enrolled, grade.
- The piece cannot be something that has already been published elsewhere.
Please note The Helix has the right to make small edits to your submission.
