Turn the Page || Mahinour Tawfik

Why sift through pages; the rest is yet to be written.
Ripe regretting being by yesterday smitten neither
ecstasy nor woe directs next chapter from the
previous, lies a lesson to capture.

Pain hurts awhile, let the sorrow not linger, for it
buries one alive. Pain makes us stronger. Does a
battle count if you’re not the warrior? Rather die
a legend than linger a wanderer.

Yearning for a better page like a talentless reader
when all hastens writing theirs, for the end is eager.

This was originally published in Fall 2017 edition of The Helix.
