Getting on wise old man
…. normally attired in formal wear
Balance act in age, progressively
splendid null – mind, that innate
watchman wakes in vain, not
having much insight. Like, monocle
looking, would be wise – beyond
that chain’s limit, by perception
there to hold in time
Satiate scale, its redolence refinement –
what time fail to remember
-a reminiscent waistline, dressed for
the occasion. Sweetly acquisitively
of wear, wearied out plenty
On scale is its worth –
proceeding gradually, gloriously getting on
Hugh Patrick McCormack was born and raised in South Africa although he is Irish, now living in Belfast. He studied Theology and Biblical studies. He spent time nursing very sick people in hospital wards and taking blood in a renal clinic. He has self published many volumes of poetry. The whole area of language and logic of words has been of deep interest. Poetry is more philosophical than confessional and romantic for him.
